Barbara Rogers is an artist/designer who has worked over four decades in the lighting field; two of those decades have been spent with Phoenix Day. She came to Phoenix Day with considerable experience having worked with Bay Area designers and manufacturers. She has varied experience working with all manner of decorative lighting fixtures, and architectural metal work. She has designed fixtures for catalogue collections and large custom assignments. She has a passion for historic restoration projects for which she has a keen sensitivity. These projects include the return of the original fixtures to the exterior entry of the Hearst Building at Third and Market, recently the San Francisco War Memorial retrofit, and a historic private club in San Francisco.

She came from Wyoming to Oakland where she studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts and earned a BFA in Painting and a MFA in Printmaking. She continues a career in printmaking and painting in her Oakland studio and exhibiting in various venues. In addition to many private collections she has work in the Bancroft Library, and the Library of Congress Print and Photography collection.

She has taught at the California College of Arts and Crafts Extension, UC Santa Cruz Extension and currently teaches at Ohlone College in the Interior Design department.
